I don't think I did consciously, but I did on some level. Its just like any other big big capital, brassy, shiny and busy. I like Cairo though, its a good city to pick as a final destination. Heres my account of the rest of our time in Turkey.. as usual I seem to working backwards in this email.  After spending a few days in Ankara working out our Syrian Visas as related in Part 1, we returned to Istanbul for a proper look around, went out on the ferries, popped back and forth across the Bosporus a few times, generally chilled.  We also met an Australian pair we would race to Cairo, albeit they were travelling as part of tour. Keeping to the theme I now to present to you my emails from a decade ago. I touched upon Thailand earlier in the blog, last year some time.  When I was traveling through Thailand I had a very extensive mailing list of friends whom I kept updated regarding my travels. Trekking in Thailand So here it is, with some photos.  And notes where appropriate. It gets better after the first few.  Somewhat.  Welcome to my  unstructured  mind!
